    Every platform needs its own version of SimCity. The population-management sim has proved to be a classic design that gamers want to return to every few years. SimCity Creator is a competent entry in the franchise that comes with a few control and interface issues. You would think the Wii remote would be a great tool for building a virtual city, but it hasn't been put to the best use here. Electronic Arts has also tried to give Creator personality by including the Sim characters from last year's MySims game, but they end up being more annoying than anything.

    The game splits its control scheme between pointer control for working on your map and D-pad navigation through menus. Probably its biggest mistake is that you scroll around your city by pointing the remote and you can't anchor the camera while you work. Too often you'll be trying to build a road or something and the screen will start to slide off to the side. It also means your hand must always be at attention. If you lower your arm to rest the camera will zip away in whichever direction you move. It's great that you can now free-draw roads, but there has to be a better solution for scrolling the map.
